OLD SEMINOLE HEIGHTS TAMPA REAL ESTATE
Tampa Home For Sale
One of Tampa’s Most Historic Neighborhoods
Old Seminole Heights is the largest of the 3 Seminole Heights communities in Tampa Homes for sale. While all the neighborhoods are tree-shaded with lots of old bungalows dating back from the early 1900s, some of these homes are included in our National Register and local Historic Districts. Tampa's urban environment neighborhoods continue to progress in beautification, grow and attract new residents of all ages and diverse cultural backgrounds.
The Old Seminole Heights Neighborhood Association (OSHNA) with over 400 members is the collective voice of the community and gets the attention of Tampa’s city officials. The Business Guild of Seminole Heights works to increase the viability of local businesses and encourage high quality enterprise. The Seminole Heights Garden Center, a neighborhood park, is used for many events such as art festivals and picnics. Since 1999, there is a magnificent Old Seminole Heights Annual Home Tour, where about 12 homes are selected and about 1200 people from all around attend. For the first time in April 2008, the Old Seminole Heights Neighborhood Association produced its premier showing of a Historic Documentary Film called “Seminole Heights, An Intimate Look at Its Early Years,” held at the old Tampa Theatre. These are some of the reasons why so many urbanites want to buy a home in a Tampa Seminole neighborhood.
Old Seminole Heights is the largest of the 3 Tampa Seminole Heights neighborhoods.
Neighborhood Boundaries are:
- North of Hillsborough Avenue to the Hillsborough River
- East of the river to 22nd Street
- South of Hillsborough Avenue to Martin Luther King Boulevard between Florida Avenue and I-275.
Hampton Terrace is a National Historic District within the southeast corner of Old Seminole Heights. Hampton Terrace is bounded roughly by Hillsborough Blvd on the South, Hanna Ave on the North, 15th St on the East, and Nebraska Ave on the West. With over 300 homes, this small area of historical significance offers home styles from the 20's, 30's, and 40's. You will find most every charming style of home here except for Prairie style.
