New Tampa home for sale is at the northeast corner of Hillsborough County, known for its sprawling newer homes, abundant lakes intermingled within the communities, and lots of conservation, parks and other green areas. New Tampa’s oldest neighborhood is Tampa Palms which has been named a top master planned community in the US. With many residential villages, places of worship, all types of shopping, wonderful restaurants, plenty of exercise facilities, and office buildings, Tampa Palms a self-contained city in itself.
One of the newer undeveloped land pieces to be transformed into subdivisions is called K-Bar Ranch which comprises 2,300 acres of land. It is located on Bruce D. Downs Boulevard between Kinnan Street and Morris Bridge Road. 1,900 residences will be built here in the subdivisions called Easton Park (600 single family), Bassett Creek (300 single family), Oak Preserve (500 single family) and Stone Creek (78 townhomes). There is a town center, park of 75 acres and the untouched wildlife areas.
New Tampa's growth is partially connected to its being in such close proximity of the University of South Florida. It has a cultural and educational draw making it attractive to all ages and styles of families. Medical and technological facilities also provide an attraction.
New Tampa’s Regional Library is located within the residential communities of Cross Creek and is a 25,000 sq ft facility built in 1997 that offers Free Wireless Internet Access on 22 PC computers, public meeting rooms, photocopiers and a public FAX machine.
Each year, residents gather for the Taste of New Tampa, an outdoor event that showcases New Tampa’s fine dining restaurants, where all Proceeds from the event, goes to local schools. The food festival combines with the Business & Health Expo because it draws people from all over Tampa Bay and this combination further educates everyone attending of New Tampa’s unique opportunities and facilities.
Mid November there is the New Tampa Arts Festival, a juried fine art show, along with entertainment, food and beverages are available. The Festival is held outside off Tampa Palms Blvd and Bruce B. Downs in Tampa Palms neighborhood.
Since 2005, The Summer Camp Expo, held in the spring, also run by The New Tampa Community Council, is a way for area residents to get a one-stop shopping experience of 20 local summer camp exhibitors. This is a great way to plan some quality time for the children once out of school in the summertime.
All throughout the year you will find monthly business networking meetings, Kiwanis events and holiday parties, all to keep this thriving area of Tampa Bay a very much alive community.
Flatwoods Park 5,400 acres are best known for its 7 mile paved road that makes a loop, and is used for biking, hiking, skating, walking and birds, flowers of all types, even wild turkeys, some deer, low-flying hawks, those speedy armadillos and you might even see a bobcat if you sit quietly. watching. A 2 mile paved extension connects Bruce B. Downs Boulevard with this loop road. Flatwoods provides a welcome getaway from Tampa’s developed lands. There is plenty of birds, flowers of all types, even wild turkeys, some deer, low-flying hawks, those speedy armadillos and you might even see a bobcat if you sit quietly.
Family picnics are great at Flatwoods because they have covered table areas, you don’t have to bring your own grill, has a convenient, clean restroom available and if you forget the cold drinks, they have a machine filled and waiting for you. Something you don’t see too often, which Flatwoods Park has alongside the picnic facilities near Morris Bridge Road is a pay telephone, convenient if you forget your cell phone. If you happen to be riding your bike, stop here also for a quick bike wash at the Visitor Center.
In 1993,The New Tampa Community Council was formed to represent the interests of and preserve the integrity of New Tampa and its residents. As a civic group, The New Tampa Community Council is considered the strongest political force for this community. Belonging to this prominent organization will help get necessary roads built in the area; maintain the excellent schools, and be sure to have enough police and fire protection when needed. It also gets involved in future landscaping and design codes to maintain its pristine reputation and prevent unwanted sprawl. A monthly online newsletter keeps residents up to date of all goings on.
